What a cookie is doing here
Cookies are small text files. Blocking them may break a feature and will not necessarily stop ads — it may only make ads less relevant.
- Advertising — Google AdSense and other partners measuring campaigns and, where allowed, making ads more relevant.
- Essential — security, load balancing, remembering a banner choice if we show one.
- Analytics — which pages are read, so we can improve the work. First-party or a third-party analytics tool.
Categories of data
If you never write to us and never click an ad, we may still have technical logs of the visit. That is ordinary hosting, not a secret dossier. Logs rotate.
If you do write, we keep the thread long enough to handle it and to deal with a later dispute.
